On Friday I met with Adrian, Leo, Rachael and Paul about the ‘Hall of Fame’.
Here is my understanding of the meeting:
The RMIT Media faculty are looking to stay ahead of the pack in continuing to be the most popular/recognised Media course in the state. One way of doing this is through a proposed ‘Hall of Fame’ in which alumni who have achieved success in their chosen roles are highlighted through an interview which will be posted on a website. Along with this, the ‘Hall of Fame’ would be involved in social media (such as a Facebook group etc). Potentially, there could be some kind of event launch for the project (however this would likely not be until next year). Target audience would be prospective students, industry professionals, RMIT University, other (rival) universities (both in and outside Australia).
The idea is an interesting one, I just need to figure out what I can add to the project. Rachael suggested it would be a project management kind of role which I imagine would involve a lot of co-ordinating and internal communications as well as media and community relations.
Another thing to think about is a new name. ‘Hall of Fame’ doesn’t seem creative enough for such an innovative degree…
Just a little food for thought
